The Hampshire Companies, a full-service, private real estate investment firm with equity in assets valued at more than $2.5 billion, announced the acquisition of Big Pine Key Shopping Center. The 93,150 square-foot retail center includes three retail buildings located at 151-291 Key Deer Boulevard in Big Pine Key, Fla. The acquisition is a joint venture with The Ferber Company, a privately held real estate development and investment company based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Claude Gardner, of Prudential Knight & Gardner Realty, represented the seller, Big Pine Shopping Center, LLC.
Spanning more than 8.5 acres, the property is 90 percent leased and includes major long-term tenants such as Winn-Dixie Supermarket and Bealls Outlet Store. The retail center offers direct access to Overseas Highway (US Route 1).
“As the only major shopping center within a 20-mile radius, Big Pine Key Shopping Center is ideally positioned to serve residents and the more than 4 million tourists who visit each year,” said Ray Ayers, Investment Manager for The Hampshire Companies. “The asset’s ability to produce stable cash flow coupled with its large tenant base and strong market position make this an attractive addition to Hampshire and The Ferber Company’s retail portfolios.”
The Ferber Company is the leasing agent for the 8,700 square-feet of retail space currently available. For leasing information, please call (561) 625-9125.
